One Beach Tent to Rule Them All

*While not always duck or farm related, these blog posts are not sponsored, but we may received a kick back from Jeff (Amazon) if you make a purchase from one of our links.

We like the beach, not the ducks, but us, the people. They’re more into freshwater, we like the salt and the sun, just not the burns.

We get asked about this beach tent every time we use it, so here’s our pitch that we give people who ask.

  • 50 SPF, saves you from the sun and from having to rent a beach umbrella, or worry that your umbrella might injure someone.

  • 6.6 lbs!!!! Easy packing in a carryon or checked bag when you visit other beaches

  • Fill the bags with sand, and place the poles on the side the wind is coming from. Lots of sand and lots of tension are the keys here. If the bags move, add more sand.

UPDATE 7/30/2024: It looks like the Akaso tent is no longer available, but don’t fret, there are many other companies that make the same product, and the link below has been updated with one that is almost exactly like the one we reviewed.

Now they come with included scoops for sand, which is much appreciated (we bring a shovel with us).

Any of these types of stretchy tents will work, just make sure of a couple things:

  • Two poles are plenty, no need for the four pole models.

  • Sand bags should be the same stretchy material (you want A LOT of sand, not a limited amount)
